02/Jun/2007. Vaibhav and I are on our way to USA a job related visit. We are in an Air India jet - I am in the business class and Vaibhav is in the economy class. We land at London's Heathrow airport for a break. I get down from the flight and see two stairs. I take the one that goes to the rest rooms. The rest room is one of the filthiest rest rooms I have seen in a long time. There urinals are at various heights, but none of those suit my height. Finally, I relieve myself in a rather inconvenient manner and make a mental note to complain about the lack of cleanliness. But then I also realize that I would not know whom to complain to.

When going back towards the plane, I see that the plane is just slightly taller than I am - say around 6 feet or so. The aircraft almost seems like a turbo-prop, but then I see two small jet engines. I get into the plane land my hands on a model of this aircraft. I show that to Vaibhav - we count around 150 seats in the economy class, some 22 seats in the business class and another 8 or so in the first class. The first class seats are fully reclinable (at least in the model).

A little later, we both realize that we have a different boarding pass for the London-USA sector which needs to be re-validated. The passport is needed for this, but we both of us have forgotten to carry the passport! After the initial shock passes away, we make plans to work around this problem. Vaibhav says she has her entire passport scanned and can show it to the authorities online. I too have the passport stored online, but only the important pages. But we think we can convince the authorities about our identity. So we get off the plane, but then the plane begins to move. We rush back towards the plane and try to get into it since the gates that are still open. Thankfully, the plane encounters a barrier while going ahead, so the plane starts to reverse. Seizing the opportunity caused by this slowdown, we jump into the plane.

... and then it was day break.
